Before Harry’s opened its doors, Raw Bar was already part of Bondi’s heartbeat.
Established in 1995, it was the first Japanese restaurant in Sydney’s East — serving up ultra-fresh sushi and sashimi long before Bondi became the dining hub it is today.
Raw Bar quickly became a local institution, known for its relaxed charm, familiar faces and the occasional celebrity sighting, all without the pressure to dress up.
Two years later, Harry’s Espresso joined the neighbourhood — a humble café on Wairoa Avenue built on a simple idea: to create a place where friends, family and neighbours could meet, relax and enjoy good food and coffee. Fast forward to 2015, and the laundromat next door became ours. We took it over, breathed new life into it and shaped it into what is now Harry’s Bondi — still anchored by community, still steeped in the bonds of local friends and families.
From there, we followed the tide of curiosity, opportunity and heart — and gradually built our family of venues across Bondi.
Next came RND (Raw Next Door) — Harry’s by day, transforming into RND by night.
When the lights dim, the familiar cafe becomes an izakaya-style restaurant and bar where Bondi locals meet for drinks, bites and good times.
Then came Lulu — a pan-Asian dining venue inspired by flavours from Japan, Korea, Thailand, Vietnam and beyond. Thought of as Raw Bar’s spicy little sister, Lulu is full of personality, sass and flavour.
And most recently, the sweetest addition of all: Luca & Luca — a tiny gelato shop inspired by old-school European tradition, handcrafted with care and made to be lingered over.
Together, these five venues form our Harry’s Family; each distinct in style yet united in spirit. Whether you’re popping in for coffee at Harry’s, gathering for dinner at Lulu, sipping sake at Raw Bar, heading out for drinks at RND or grabbing a gelato at Luca & Luca — community is at the heart of it all.
